This is what getting elected as the 48th President on November 7, 2028 looks like on November 6, 2025.
Whatever else can be said about Gavin Newsom, it cannot be said that he is not a brilliant politician. Note Newsom’s go-to line when Charlie Kirk says something that Newsom cannot affirmatively agree with (or that he disagrees with). The line is: “I appreciate that” or “I appreciate your perspective.”
Newsom “appreciates” Kirk 24 times in 71 minutes. That’s once every four minutes.
One can imagine that a big part of being the Governor of any state is having three or four go-to lines to get you through the day.
The other thing revealed here is the tactical, strategic, cold-blooded nature of the game. You have to get votes. Votes are objective. One candidate wins. The rest tie for last.
Newsom is doing this because Newsom and his people saw what everybody saw. They saw Trump close with McDonalds, a garbage truck, Theo Vonn and Joe Rogan. They saw Harris decline Joe Rogan.
They saw Harris and Trump do barber shops. Imagine the two barbershop spots below are speech contests and you are the tie-breaking fifth judge. Who wins?
